About Loretta

My commitment to serving Senate District 24 comes directly from lived experience. I was born and raised right here in this community. I’ve seen firsthand what it looks like when people are overlooked—when families work hard but still struggle to make ends meet, when youth with potential don’t have access to opportunity, and when healthcare is too far, too expensive, or too late.

Like many in our district, I’ve had to navigate challenges without the safety nets some take for granted. I’ve leaned on neighbors, faith, and resilience. And through it all, I’ve learned that real change starts when we show up for one another.

Serving others is where I find purpose. I’ve spent my life doing just that—whether it’s mentoring youth, advocating for fairness, or standing beside those who felt unheard. These moments have fueled my desire to not just talk about change—but help make it happen.

I know what this district is capable of because I am this district. My roots, my values, and my vision are grounded in the people and places that raised me.

Here's how my priorities will improve lives in Senate District 24:

 1. Expand Access to Educational Pathways: Not everyone is meant for a four-year college—and that’s okay. I will work to increase access to trade schools, job training programs, and youth development opportunities. These options prepare our young people for real careers and empower adults to reskill for better-paying jobs.

 2. Advocate for Better Healthcare Access: Healthcare should not be a luxury. I will fight for affordable, accessible healthcare options, especially in our rural and underserved areas. From maternal care to mental health services, people in District 24 deserve treatment without financial devastation.

 3. Promote Community-Led Solutions: I believe those closest to the problems are closest to the solutions. I will support policies that fund and uplift grassroots organizations, small businesses, and local leaders who are already doing the work on the ground.

 4. Bring Dignity and Accountability Back to Government: Many feel ignored by the system. I promise to show up, listen, and speak up for your needs at the Capitol—not just during election season, but every day. Transparency, compassion, and respect will be my guide.

 5. Invest in Infrastructure and Public Services: From roads and internet access to safe public spaces and clean water, I will push for state investment in the basic needs that allow our communities to grow and thrive.

I’m not running to play politics—I’m running to bring real resources and results to the people I’ve lived beside my whole life.

Impacting the community

One moment that stands out was when I helped organize a community-led resource drive for families in need, right here in District 24. This wasn’t a big, flashy event—it was about neighbors helping neighbors. We pooled together donations of school supplies, groceries, hygiene items, and even transportation support for elders to attend medical appointments.

What made it special was how we listened first. We didn’t assume what people needed—we asked. And because of that, we were able to serve with dignity and respect. We turned a vacant lot into a safe space for connection, care, and real support. It was grassroots in the truest sense—and a reminder that when the community leads, solutions follow.

Moments like that continue to inspire my campaign and fuel my belief in people-powered progress.

Why I'm the best choice

I’m not a career politician — I’m a daughter of this community, someone who understands the struggles and strengths of District 24 because I’ve lived them. I know what it’s like to stretch a dollar, to raise a family in uncertain times, and to care deeply about the future of our children.

What sets me apart is my commitment to people over politics. I don’t just show up when it’s time to vote — I show up when it’s time to listen, to serve, and to fight for what’s right. My campaign isn’t backed by big money or special interests — it’s rooted in community, dignity, and real-life experience.

I believe every voice matters, especially those who feel left behind. I will fight for better education, stronger healthcare access, workforce training, and community-led solutions — not because it’s popular, but because it’s personal.

District 24 deserves leadership that doesn’t just talk change — but lives it, breathes it, and works for it every single day. That’s what I’ve always done, and that’s exactly what I’ll continue to do in the State Senate.
